Thanks. I used a vray material shader with a little bit of specularity, very low reflectivity to make it look like wet clay.

Amazing! I would love to know how you did the eyes effectively, I always struggle with that area. What advice could you give with the eyes? and detailing the split of the mouth?
Thanks. Its hard to describe the process but i will try. Basically,i would start by sculpting a hemisphere shape at the area of the eye,adjust the size and the way it extrudes out from the face (under the eyebrows). Once you got that, you can use either a damian standard brush or something similar to draw the lids on top of that hemisphere shape, that way it will give you nice curvature in all directions. It takes me a while to get eyes look ok too. Same process for the mouth. My best advice would be looking at reference and keep practicing. Hope this makes some sense

thanks did you mean it took a long time to render? If so, it's because the meshes were so dense, they were 2 million polygons each, plus I have 3 area lights in the scene with high samples. It would take less time if I retopologized it and used displacement map instead
1hr? Thats insane The render is more than very nice. What's your setup? Did you use HDRI lightning? I'm pursuing the perfect scene but I just can't narrow it.
Thanks. No, I didnt use hdr lighting, this is just a 3 light setup, 2 on each side, the left one is weaker than the right, one on the top pointing at the roof of the backdrop, that will give you nice soft light bounce. Hope it helps

i just found out today that I can sell stuff on dA, lol. Not just prints, but the files. About the time, dont race with it, take all the time you need, it used to take me days to push out a ok head. So you are still better than me
